Believing myself to be a great artist, probably since Kindergarten, it was always just a matter of time, study and hard work before this truth will be out there. So, majoring in art at school was a natural first step. The plan was to continue to study painting and sculpturing at the visual art school “Meymad” in Tel Aviv. But, during the first year, a brief encounter with a jewelry saw chanced the course of my life. It meant starting the four years over at the jewelry designing department, which was surprisingly great. Being a full-time student is the most wonderful thing one can be, in my opinion, and studying design was perfect for me. Working with metal fascinated me, but learning to think like a designer was the best gift of all.
Drawing was no longer first on my artistic aspirations list, it became a tool, studying the professional way of drawing jewelry was just easy fun. luckily, my rendering teacher suggested an extra project for me – entering the ’96 International Pearl Design Contest in Tokyo, Japan – the rendering category. Winning 2nd prize was a very happy surprise.
